iREP Documentary Film Festival Invites Submissions for 2025

iRepresent International Documentary Film Festival(iREP) on the 20th of January, 2025, announced the call for documentary filmmakers to share their stories. Submissions are open till Friday, 31st of January, 2025. 

The 15th edition of the annual iREP is set to be held from March 27th to 30th, 2025. Known as iRep, this organization was pioneered by Femi Odugbemi, Theo Lawson, Makin Soyinka, and Jahman Anikulapo, and it has been in existence for fifteen years, right from its inception in 2010. Aimed at fostering cross-cultural creativity and inclusivity, iREP remains a space devoted solely to documentary films. iREP serves as a platform for young and established African filmmakers interested in showcasing their documentary films, believing that every documentary filmmaker’s work is worthy to be seen. iREP offers these filmmakers the chance to join a global community of filmmakers, build their portfolios as creatives,  connect with diverse creatives, and collaborate with professionals across the globe.

Lineup of selected films and names of their directors from the 2024 film festival edition which was themed “Righting the Future Through Documentary” include Loot and the Lost Kingdom by Gbemi Shasore, Madu by Matthew Ogens and Joel Benson, The Fuji Documentary by Saheed Aderinto, Ki’Mon: The Eastern Nigeria Afro-Funk Revolution 1970-1980 by Nze Ed Emeka Keazor, Soot City by Adeolu Shogbola, Excretapolitics by Yoel Merand, and Jump Out by Nika Saravanja. 

Through this year’s edition tagged as a celebration of socially relevant storytelling, iREP is geared to display diverse, vibrant, and groundbreaking stories about Africa that will spark insightful and educative conversations about Documentary films.
