LIGHTS, CAMERA, MISCHIEF – TAFM’23 #SHOOT THE CULTURE IS OFF WITH THE CLAP OF THE BOARD

TAFM rolled out its signature black carpet on the 27th April 2023 in Lagos & Accra for its second edition. 

The Lagos festival kicked off at VIVA Cinemas, Ikeja (same venue as TAFM’22). Festival Director 1, Uche Chika Elumelu, delivered the opening remarks and was followed closely by two performances from Tonie The Emperor and Shimmer Goddess. The screening of the “Shoot The Culture ” documentary, produced by Take One Productions, quickly followed. It highlighted the behind the scenes of the planning & executing the festival. “Broken Mask” (Directed by Kagho Idehbor), “We Are Not Men Anymore” (Directed by ‘Chukwu Martin), “Green: The Amazons” (Oluchi Mary Nsofor), “Atoka” (Directed by Seun Afolabi)  and “Sunset In Makoko” (Directed by Allen Onyige) were screened to varied responses from the audience. The screenings were followed by Q&A sessions with the directors. Wrapping up the evening was “10 Minutes in the Lighting Booth” with Flora aka Nigerian Female Gaffer. TAFM Festival Director 2, Tomi Folowosele, brought the programme to an end with closing remarks to a fulfilling night.

The Accra festival kicked off at Silverbird Cinemas with opening remarks from Deladem Duvi. “Flesh and Spirit” (Directed by Yinusa A. Korede), “Prey” (Directed by  Ese Ariremu),  “Broken Mask” (Directed by Kagho Idehbor), “Abe Ni” (Directed by ‘Chukwu Martin),  “Kill The Impostor” (Directed by Adeniyi Joseph Omobulejo) “Sunset In Makoko” (Directed by Allen Onyige),  “My Mama Na Ashawo” (Directed by Nwamaka Chikezie) and “Atoka” (Directed by Seun Afolabi) all screened. 

The Lagos & Accra locations delivered over 120 attendees.

TAFM’23 continues till Sunday, 30th April 2023 in Lagos, Abuja and Accra.
